With the growing impacts of Climate Change and the events of natural disasters rising, Pakistan’s vulnerable communities have been at risk. In this regard, PDI, under its Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction Program, is actively engaged with the vulnerable communities of Sindh and Balochistan, in the areas frequently hit by disasters, i.e., droughts, floods, cyclones, and earthquakes, with disaster prevention, mitigation as well as adaptation awareness activities.
The program aims toward disaster risk reduction planning as well as prevention and mitigation for these vulnerable communities and to make them aware of their participation in mitigating the impacts of climate change and standing against natural disasters. The program also works with the active national and international networks on Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Response to share experiences and learn from the successful global experiences.
