PDI with the support of Oxfam is re-establishing and "re-starting" about 50 Girls Schools in Dadu District of Sindh! These schools have been severally affected by the floods in 2011 with no enrollment level, now the team is dedicated towards bringing back the education for kids in these schools!
PDI have been actively engaged in humanitarian support for the floods in 2010 as well as 2011, while also struggling to engage the local governments more actively in the development processes of areas affected. Planning ahead for any unexpected disasters, PDI ensures local voices to be a part of the plan!
Participatory Development Initiative and Oxfam GB have jointly organized a conference on "Corporate social responsibilities (CSR) of oil and gas exploration firms and local communities" on 30 March 2010 at local hotel of Larkana.
Sindh Government Land Distribution Programme, Project Director Faisal Ukili has said that in second phase of Sindh government land distribution program would be initiated in April 2010 and the Government would also include the representatives of civil society in the process to make pre-land distribution process more transparent. He expressed this view in a consultative workshop jointly organized by PDI and Oxfam GB held at a local hotel on 31 March 2010.
